Dubai, the Jewel of the Persian Gulf, is one of the seven emirates which constitute United Arab Emirates of Arab Peninsula.
Other sisters of Dubai on Persian Gulf are; Emirates of Ajman, Fujairah, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Umm al-Qalwain and Ras al-Khaimah.
Beginning our trip from Emirate of Fujairah on the other side of Persian Gulf on the same peninsula, we headed to Dubai.
Our trip was to take 2,5 hours and we would have passed approximately 17-180 km. On our way to Dubai, driving through roads with 3 lanes, we glimpsed environment with curious eyes, which was rather different than that of Turkey’s.
We arrived at Ras al Khor Wild Life Sanctuary very close to city center. You can shoot photographs of water birds like Great Egrets, Grey Herons, Flamingo flocks. If you are lucky, you can also see Sandpipers here. We were informed that there were two other sanctuaries for ornito photographers in city; Al Mazmar Park and Mushrif National Park. (I’m afraid I’ll have to buy a 600mm lens for the next time.)
Dubai
-Dubai Mall
You can find any American and European trade marks here in city. Dubai Mall may be a good example for this. In Dubai Mall, a wide range of food from different kithchens all over the world beginning from US to Japan is available.
Dubai Fountain-A feast of water-light and sound combination. Close the lights, pump the volume up, lean back and watch…
Dubai Fountain serves an opportunity of amusement to the visitors resorting a feast of water-light and music show at night. The sounds of the show we saw was by Sara Brightman-Adrea Bocelli, “Por Ti Volare”.
From the point where you watch the show you can also shoot the gorgeous Address Hotel Downtown. Inside the mall, an aquarium is another possibility for different shoots.
Burj Khalifa-Thank God somebody shoot my photo at last!
-Burj Khalifa
Serving as residence and hotel, Burj Khalifa (Burj means “tower”) is one of the must see places in city. Has a dashy illumination at night. We enjoyed the sparkling city night scene from the 124th floor of Burj Khalifa which is famous of being the tallest building on the earth with a height of 828 m. This is also the place where you can see the fountain show from above.

Emirates Mall is another important place in city in which you can enjoy skiing. Kayak court is not a small one. It’s quite big, even there is a chairlift inside.
-Deira
For best deals on electronic shopping, Deira region is highly recommended. Deira, where people from India and Pakistan are working, has similarities with Tahtakale of Istanbul. You can shop here for quite reasonable prices as compared with mall prices, of course paying great attention on what you’re buying.
-Burj Al Arab Jumeirah
Burj Al Arab, My favorite…
Burj Al Arab, one of the most attractive luxurious hotels in the region, since 1999 is said to own 7 stars. Burj Al Arab lets you take wonderful shots with the sail profile. The circular platform at the top known as a tennis court is actually a helicopter platform if I may say. Alternate way to come to the hotel… Additionally you can be taken from the airport with a Rolls Royce if you would like to…
