Today, I want to talk about a daily trip to Tam Coc, The Beauty of Vietnam. Tam Coc is in Ninh Binh province and in the north of Vietnam very near Hanoi.
The region is well known for beautiful natural setting. The Vietnamese says for this region, The Halong Bay on land.
Imagine the famous Ha Long Bay with its tall, narrow limestone peaks jutting out of the water, but instead of water, there are green rice fields. Also, no/less tourists… That’s right Tam Coc!

You can take a 1 day tour from Hanoi and book from 42 $ from here. and this price includes pick up and drop off by modern air-conditioned bus, english speaking guide, bicycle, entrance fees and boat cruising and a specified meal.
You start the journey by visiting a local and a traditional Vietnamese family in Tam Coc.
Here you get the chance to see their house architecture and daily life.
Exploring The Rice Fields
After visit the family, you take a bike and start riding to explore the rice fields and limestone mountains for about 1-1,5 hour.
You can ride along Ngo Dong river, one of the mostfarmou river at ninhbinh, to watch and take photo of the tourists who rented boats cruise through the countryside.
Mua Cave (Hang Mua)
And If you want, you can climb up the most stunning view of Tam Coc at Mua Cave (Hang Mua) and take your best photost of this beautiful place.
At the end of the riding, you get back to the host family to enjoy a special lunch prepared by the home chef with the local cuisine of the Asian culture. After lunch, you are served a cup of local green tea and you continue the journey of Tam Coc.
Ngo Dong River
….and you journey on Ngo Dong River by a small boat rowed by a local for about 2-2,5 hours.
The boat ride up the Ngo Dong River is so beautiful and peaceful. You can visit on this journey the caves along Ngo Dong River.
You can see along the river the sight of some temples, rice paddy and the peaceful scenery of mountains. In the afternoon, the tours arrive at the ancient capital of Vietnam named Hoa Lu in the 10th century and you are informed more about the Vietnamese history.
After this visit tours leave Tam Coc and head straight back to Hanoi. About 19:30, you arrive in Hanoi and tours drop you back to your hotel or private address in Hanoi.
To see this yellow rice carpet along the river banks you should travel here during harvest season.
