Autumn in Kentucky

Autumn in Kentucky, USA October is one of the most picturesque months of the year in the Bluegrass state.

It all begins as early as September, as the foliage gradually turns their green leaves to stunning and brilliant shades of orange, red and yellow, to finally reaching their peak in late October.

In my opinion, one of the most beautiful times of the year in the Heartland.

The scenery is truly a feast to the eyes. Kentucky experiences four very distinct seasons. During the month of October, fall begins, my favorite season of the year.

As we enter the season, the climate becomes cooler with the temperatures ranging from the mid 60’s during the day to the 40’s at night.

Halloween is celebrated here on the last day of the month, the sight of pumpkin farms and the beautiful “Mum” flowers are a common around this time of the year.

There are many scenic places where you can enjoy such displays of beauty; these are some of the most popular spots. Daniel Boone National Forest, located in London, Kentucky, located along the Cumberland Plateau in the Appalachian foothills of Eastern Kentucky.

Millions of visitors come to enjoy the scenic beauty and the abundant wildlife of the forest. A must see during the foliage peak season. Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest.

The fall shows off its colors from a variety of trees native to the state. Some of these trees include maples, dogwoods, magnolias, cypresses and many others. A delightful explosion of color.

Cumberland Falls, Corbin, Kentucky, sometimes called the Little Niagara of the South, one of the state most beautiful parks in the state, the bright colors of the trees and foliage surround you everywhere you go.

Autumn Season in Kentucky; No matter where you choose to enjoy the colors of the fall foliage, I can assure you that you will always receive the warm hospitality that Kentuckians are well -known for.
