The Coffee Culture in Vietnam is one of the most gastronomic things in my country today.
As you know, coffee is ubiquitous in the world but takes a prominent position in Vietnamese culture.
During more than 160 years since the French brought it into Vietnam in colonial times, Vietnamese has adapted, created and developed cultural diversity in enjoying coffee with many special recipes.
We carry on the coffee culture from the French colonial era with enough passion to carry our own brewing tools in our pockets.
Today, Vietnam is the world’s leading producer of Robusta Coffee Beans, a high acidity and a subspecies according to the genus Arabica. The Vietnamese like to use coffee in large quantities during roasting and brewing.
A cup of coffee in the morning in street food, or in a cafeteria (from frugality to luxury), or even take away and enjoy it while walking.
The Coffee Shops in Vietnam
In this article, I will introduce coffee shops in middle-range price and in my Ho Chi Minh city – one of the biggest and exciting city of Vietnam.
I usually go around to find some special coffee shops, and I find out (in my discovery) that there are two types of coffee shops.
-Vintage-Designed Coffee Shop
The first type is the cafeterias hide in the normal places like narrow lane or small peaceful neighborhood, these cafe shops have unique designs or coffee recipes.
I had found a small vintage-designed coffee shop when I traveled to a normal area occasionally, and I have had a cup of egg coffee.
In Vietnam, we consume coffee in a way that is nowhere else in the world: with eggs!
It sounds terrible, but the flavor is amazing. This coffee was originally produced in the absence of milk and was replaced by eggs. Discovered by a Frenchman to create a nutritious alternative food during the Second World War.
This coffee has a steam-stirred egg’s layer above coffee, you can drink them separately or mix them.
-A Private Cafe Shop or A Chain of Cafe Restaurants
The second one has a nice view, it can be a private cafe shop or a chain of cafe restaurants.
I usually go to these coffee shops to relaxing and reading every weekend.
The coffee of them is normal, maybe they have some other special drinkings.
There are many diverse cafe shops in Vietnam that I would not mention in this article because I want you to discover by yourself and enjoy them.
Let’s go to my country and discover, you will be surprised. Thank you.
