San Martín de los Andes is a tourist destination in the south west of Argentina.
There’s no doubt that Argentina is a country blessed with various and beautiful landscapes, that´s why it’s hard to choose only one place to visit. Besides this it is so big that you need many days to travel and know it.

It is located in Neuquén, 1572 km from Buenos Aires, in the northwest of Argentinian Patagonia at the shore of Lácar Lake.
It is the gate to the Lanín National Park, where it is located the Lanín Volcano.

What to Do
-Quila Quina Village
Once you arrive, there are many activities you can do, like going by ship to a peaceful and pretty beach in Quila Quina Village, which is in Lanín National Park.
The round ticket by ship to the beach is U$ 14,67. You can also go by car taking the famous national route 40 and enjoy the fantastic views. After 6 km you arrive to the village.
Quila Quina is a peninsula and the road allows you to travel in just 3 km, so the best way to know it is walking. All the roads in San Martín de los Andes lead to wonderful corners.
-Hua Hum Port
Another tour you can do is going to Hua Hum Port, which is the border crossing between Argentina and Chile.
There you can find the Hua Hum river with a deep bluish green colour.
As you can imagine, the landscape here is also dreamy about the Coast of Nonthué Lake which also has camping area, a small dock and a restaurant.
-The Oldest Patagonian Tea House
San martin de los Andes also has The Oldest Patagonian Tea House.
Here besides tasting some delicious cakes and tea, you are going to have one of the best views of an unforgettable sunset.
After staying some days in the city, a good idea is to take a bus and go to La Angostura Village, which is 110 km away.
This marvellous village is located in the north of Nahuel Huapi National Park and it is surrounded by lakes, woods and mountains. It is considered one of the prettiest of Cordillera Patagonia. It is known for its wood houses of architectural alpine style.
If you are in La Angostura village and you love water sports, you have to go to Manzano Port on the shore of Nahuel Huapi Lake. Here you can admire Brava and Mansa bay.
Other recommended activities you can do are: horse riding, rafting, kayaking, trekking, sailing and fishing.
When you visit Patagonia you can’t miss eating the delicious trout cooked in many different ways.
Patagonia is definitely a destination you can enjoy in summer as well as in winter and when you know these places, surely you’re going to fall in love with them.
